Nokia Acquires New Web Browser

Nokia Active with Meego and Novarra Acquisition
After joining with Intel to create the new Linux-based tablet/SMARTphone OS "Meego," Nokia just bought Novarra. Novarra makes the Vision browser for SMART phones, and now that Nokia has acquired the company, it will be used by the HUGE number of Nokia handsets sold annually. The browser offered by Novarra hasn't been able to take frontstage, but when it's used by Nokia users, it has the chance to show it's stuff.
Let's try to connect the dots... a new OS for Smart phones and tablets, a new browser (that works with Flash, by the way)... Where's Nokia headed?
Nokia is looking to the future. It's not the world's leading manufacturer of handsets for nothing. Nokia is preparing for the growth of the handset into something more, ensuring that it has an operating system that can handle more than it needs right now, and completing the plan with a full-featured but still slim browser to go along with it. With its Ovi app store already flourishing, Nokia will be an interesting company to watch in the next few months and throughout 2010.
