Adding RSS Image Feeds to WordPress
Adding RSS image feeds to your WordPress blog is one of the best ways to add interest and increased readership to your blog or website. There are several plug-ins that give that functionality to your blog, but they're not all created equal. This entry will suggest two available plugins and explain how to install them.
Step 1
Add two plug-ins to your WordPress blog. Go to "Plugins"-->"Add New" and type "Image Feed" into the search box. In the list, you'll find "Image RSS" and "RSS Image Widget." These are two plug-ins (and corresponding widgets) that work in WordPress.
Step 2
Install and activate both of these plug-ins. Once you do, their widgets will show up in the "Widgets" management screen. Drag each to a sidebar.
Step 3
Add relevant information to each widget's configuration. Paste the URL of the RSS feed, and in RSS Image, specify the thumbnail size.
Step 4
Save and check to see if the images show up the way they should. Some RSS feeds don't work, whether because of improper PHP configuration or because the feed was made for another proprietary reader or subscription service.
Tips
* Right now, these are the two free plugins that seem to work for WordPress. However, plugins are constantly being added to the library.
